The Academy Is… announce first album in 18 years

Date:

Synonymous with the pop-punk and emo era of the 2000s, Chicago’s The Academy Is… has announced their return to music with the upcoming album, Almost There.

Coming out on March 27, the album is the band’s first release since 2008’s Fast Times at Barrington High and is a reference to the band’s first album Almost Here. The band describes Almost There as “about being alive in this moment, checking in with who you thought you’d be, seeing what changed, what stuck, and what still feels like home.”

The album is available for pre-order on vinyl and CD here.

The Academy Is… will also be taking the album on the road with their recently announced tour dates across the US this April and May. Tickets and more information can be found here.

Almost There‘s lead single “2005” is out now.
