Nashville-based artist, Royale Lynn, has announced her debut album, BLACK MAGIC, will be released on June 27th via Epitaph Records.

Produced by Jonathan Roach, the record channels the emotional depths of Lynn’s personal struggles with mental health wrapped in a concept inspired by mythology. Each track symbolizes one of the “evils” released from Pandora’s Box.

In addition to the album announcement, Lynn released the project’s lead single, “GREED,” an alt-metal anthem with piercing vocals and a hard-rock edge reminiscent of early-2000s icons like Evanescence and Flyleaf. Accompanied by a cinematic video directed by Scott Hansen, the track dives into a dystopian fantasy world, with Lynn performing in full force alongside masked figures that personify the song’s namesake.

In a new press release, Lynn shares more details on her debut album:

“Every song is about mental health; I want to tell my stories in hopes that it might help others,” Royale explains. “At the end of the day, I don’t think mental health is talked about enough…and if my songs help someone in the way that my favorite band’s music helped me throughout the years, that is all that matters to me. I think that music saves lives. Growing up, I struggled with managing my mental health, and I know some of my best friends struggled, too. I think this music gives us a safe space where we can be honest with ourselves. I wanted to show the community that they aren’t alone.”

Recently signed to Epitaph, Lynn’s breakout year has included massive tours with Skillet and Seether, festival appearances at Louder Than Life and Aftershock, and even a special onstage performance with the iconic metal band Disturbed. As her debut looms, BLACK MAGIC positions Royale Lynn as a bold new voice in the genre ready to take her place at the forefront of rock’s next generation.
