ROREY Gives us an “Emotional Hangover” on Recent Single

Despite being a newcomer, New York’s rising star ROREY is ready to make a splash in the music scene with “Emotional Hangover,” the second song from her upcoming EP, Apt 7d.

“Emotional Hangover,” is inspired by feelings of anxiety, fused with 2000s-inspired grunge-pop with a modern indie edge. ROREY describes the concept of emotional hangovers, a state of disassociation following fights, tense conversations, or panic attacks. This emotional landscape, combined with her reconciliation with her bipolar diagnosis, became the catalyst for writing “Emotional Hangover.”

Speaking about the track, ROREY reveals that it was born during her self-proclaimed “victim era.” At the time, she felt that everything was someone else’s fault, often expressing her anxiety through lengthy essays.

“Emotional Hangover” serves as a delightful introduction to ROREY’s first EP, Apt 7d, slated for release on June 30. Listen to the track on Spotify now.
