Red Velvet’s Irene is making her solo debut with ‘Like A Flower’

Date:

Red Velvet’s Irene (아이린) is set to make her long-anticipated solo debut with her first album, Like A Flower, releasing on Nov. 26 at 6 PM KST (2:30 p.m. IST) through SM Entertainment. Known as the leader of the popular South Korean girl group Red Velvet and its sub-unit Red Velvet – Irene & Seulgi, Irene is poised to captivate fans with this new chapter in her career.

Red Velvet, a five-member group under SM Entertainment, released their debut EP Ice Cream Cake in March 2015, marking the start of their successful journey in K-pop. Just six months later, they launched their first Korean album, The Red (2015), followed by Perfect Velvet (2017), and most recently Chill Kill (2023). They also expanded into the Japanese market with their Japanese-language album Bloom in 2022.

Internationally, Red Velvet has gained widespread recognition, being named one of the most popular K-pop groups by Time and Billboard, and ranked as the fifth most-streamed K-pop artist worldwide on Spotify in February 2020.

Adding to the excitement, SM Entertainment recently unveiled the album art for Irene’s solo debut, Like A Flower, which features a surreal, fairy-tale-inspired scene with vibrant floral elements. This enchanting visual sets the tone for Irene’s debut, where she also introduced her personalized solo logo. As the fourth Red Velvet member to go solo —following Wendy, Seulgi and Joy — Irene’s debut offers the Reveluv fandom a refreshing new experience: A sweet treat.
