“Put flowers on my tombstone ‘cause I’ll hate you ’til the day I’m dead”: Oliver Tree releases latest breakup track, “Flowers”

Date:

Indie-rocker and internet personality Oliver Tree released his latest alternative song, “Flowers,” giving fans yet another taste of what’s to come on his upcoming album, Love You Madly, Hate You Badly, set to release this spring.

A rage-filled breakup-anthem, “Flowers” will make you block your ex, wish them a violent death, and then dance on the wing of an airplane.

While the pissed-off lyrics may call for a much angrier tone, the Santa Cruz artist continues to combine this anger with cheery alternative-pop beats in his usual genre-bending fashion. He retrospectively explores a toxic relationship and hoping the worst for the heartbreaker: “I hate your f–cking guts, I hope you’ll always feel regret / I hope you fall and snap your neck and die a violent death / I wish we had never met, I’ll hate you ’til the day I’m dead.”

Filmed in Latvia, the “Flowers” “Official Unofficial Music Video” keeps up with Tree’s signature of out-of-the-ordinary music videos and global journey, as he recorded his new album across 7 continents and 80 countries over the last 2 years.

Oliver Tree will perform as a special guest with the “it boy” himself, bbno$, for the rapper’s special Red Rocks Amphitheater performance on Apr. 16, 2026, in Colorado, alongside rappers Käärijä, YNG Martyr, and jungle bobby. Remaining tickets and more information are available here
