Presley Regier taps into vulnerability and neon nostalgia on “Buy Me A Car”

Date:

Rising alt-pop talent Presley Regier continues his steady ascent with the release of “Buy Me A Car,” an electrifying new single from his upcoming Sensitive to the room EP, due April 24. The EP draws inspiration from films like The Perks of Being a Wallflower and The Notebook.

After writing and producing for major artists early in his career, he stepped into the spotlight with his own projects, quickly amassing millions of streams and landing on Tate McRae‘s Think Later world tour in 2024.

“Buy Me A Car” has already gained early momentum after premiering as a featured track on Zane Lowe’s Apple Music show and explores a simple but piercing desire: to feel wanted. “I wrote ‘Buy Me A Car’ about wanting to be wanted,” Regier shares.

“Luka Kloser and I started this one together and we both thought the chorus line being ‘can you buy me a car?’ felt oddly vulnerable. Ironically this is absolutely a driving in your car type of song and I hope people relate to the desperate tone it has.”

The single also highlights Regier’s evolving creative partnership with producer Luka Kloser, known for work alongside Addison Rae. Together, they craft a nostalgic sound reminiscent of ‘80s and ‘90s pop while still feeling fresh.
