Utah native Obeeyay has released a new single titled “Love Games,” an electric synth-pop track reminiscent of The Weeknd, about a romantic partner toying with his heart.
With an 1980s new wave-influenced production, “Love Games” has a nostalgic sound perfect for a late-night drive. Lyrically, the singer-songwriter details a romantic relationship that has taken a toll on him with toxic mind games, singing, “‘Cause you don’t / Don’t act the same / You say you want me closer but keep pulling me away.”
In the pre-chorus, Obeeyay further describes how his partner has emotionally drained him, singing, “I don’t think I’m ever going to recognize you when it all went down / You turned yourself into some kind of love vampire / I don’t sleep at night / I’m so terrified of your love games.”
Obeeyay has consistently put out new music since debuting with his EP, Winnin’, back in 2022. Since then, he has amassed over half a million streams on Spotify alone. This year, he has released a string of successful singles, including “we good or what?” featuring Maya Malkin, and “Up And Away.”
