No Love For The Middle Child enters a new era of vulnerability in “Ash on the Floor”

Date:

Philadelphia-born, LA-based producer, songwriter, and multi-instrumentalist No Love For The Middle Child has released a dark, cinematic masterpiece titled “Ash on the Floor.”

As a young star, he’s solidified his popularity and his credibility in a number of ways. He’s toured alongside grandson and MOD SUN, performed in mgk‘s band, and been credited in writing hits such as mgk’s “Lost Americana” and “0X1=LOVESONG,” by K-Pop boy band Tomorrow by Together (TXT).

Sharing more about his new single, he says:

“…It’s been a fun experiment writing these acoustic songs and taking them as if they’re samples and remixing them to be quicker, transposed, or completely reproduced. I find that if the bones of the song are good, the production can be anything, and that’s what I found when making ash on the floor.”

The process of making this single came from an experimental point in the artists’ life, one that comes from deep within the vulnerable heart. “Ash on the Floor” explores the uncomfortable and necessary silence after the end of a relationship, and the moment of reckoning where accountability settles in instead of anger: “Forgive but don’t forget / I expect back nothing less / I wish you all the best / I’m ashing on the floor.”

Much more is expected from this talented artist as this song marks the beginning of a new era, a slow reveal of his forthcoming album set to drop late 2026.
