Nicki Minaj is back following the one-year anniversary of Pink Friday 2, with the deluxe The Hiatus to be released on Dec. 13. This final deluxe installment wraps up the PF2 era, as Minaj announced on X, writing, “Pink Friday 2 – The Hiatus. The final deluxe installment on the 1-year anniversary of PF2. 12.13.24.”
While Pink Friday 3 was originally teased earlier this fall, the focus now shifts to The Hiatus. Minaj had initially planned to release Pink Friday 2: Gag City Reloaded in September to coincide with the second U.S. leg of her record-breaking Pink Friday 2 World Tour, but those plans changed. It remains unclear whether Pink Friday 3 will still serve as her next era or if The Hiatus will close this chapter.
Minaj recently concluded the second leg of her North American tour, which became the highest-grossing and bestselling rap tour by a woman in Boxscore history. With The Hiatus, fans can expect fresh tracks and collaborations. Pink Friday 2 itself was a massive hit, debuting at No. 1 on the Billboard 200, featuring big-name collaborators like Lil Wayne, J. Cole, Future, 50 Cent, Monica and Keyshia Cole. The album also made Minaj the first female rapper with three number-one albums. Internationally, it reached the top ten in numerous countries, and it was the first album by a solo woman to win the BET Hip Hop Award for Album of the Year.
