In April, Columbus-based singer-songwriter Nick Folwarczny was a little under the weather. Well, more realistically, he was trying to navigate new love. Either way, Nick wasn’t feeling like himself, as symptoms like shortness of breath and nervous sweating were taking over. To further explain what he was going through, he released “Sweat,” a vulnerable yet moving offering. Here, he confronted this person who was tearing him up inside, asking what their intentions are and admitting, “I don’t want to let you go.” In the end, he proved that he is someone who needs to be on your radar this year. He continues to show his worth on his new single “Life’s Worth Living.”
A feel-good indie-folk anthem, “Life’s Worth Living” is about growth and coming into your own. Throughout the track, Nick touches on the importance of living with purpose and not wasting what you have. With heartfelt vocals, he sings, “You can’t take what’s been given to you in another life / And the day that I feel different from you tells me I’m alive.” All the while, lively string riffs, warm strumming, and classic hand claps complete the song and give it that “made to sing around a campfire with friends” edge.
Telling us more about “Life’s Worth Living,” Nick explains,
“I started writing ‘Life’s Worth Living’ about two years ago when the chorus first popped into my head. I kept falling into patterns of writing songs and trying to force this chorus into them, but always hated how it sounded. It took me about a year, a summer of playing shows in states that I had never been to, and a few heartbreaks to fully understand what I wanted to say and how I was going to say it. ‘Life’s Worth Living’ is a piece about growth and self-acceptance that I wasn’t sure I was ever going to be able to write, but I couldn’t be more proud of how it turned out.”
