Trueblood sign to Mercury Records, release “Make It Out”

Date:

Around this time six years ago, the world was in lockdown. It’s not a great time to look back on, with all the toilet paper outages and isolation from friends and family, but some fantastic projects came from that year. Take Trueblood, for instance.

The quickly rising Southern California alt-rock band first started to jam during the pandemic, which led to the release of viral TikTok covers, which led to the release of viral original music on DSPs. They have over a billion views and over ten million streams, and they have received co-signs from artists like Coldplay, Maroon 5, sombr, and Laufey. Earlier this month, Trueblood was even covered by The New York Times, with the notable publication addressing the band’s meteoric ascent into the alt-rock scene.

So far, 2026 is treating Trueblood very well. The band just came off a sold-out East Coast tour, and they have officially signed to Mercury Records. The signing is a milestone moment for Trueblood, and to celebrate, they are releasing their record label debut single, “Make It Out.”

On “Make It Out,” Trueblood capture what it’s like to feel composed on the outside but broken down on the inside. To reflect this, the song itself sounds upbeat and cool, with catchy guitar riffs and a lively guitar solo in the bridge. On the inside, however, we are managing burnt out feelings. With a somewhat relaxed tone, vocalist Mason Trueblood sings, “And even all my doubts are spilling out my mouth / I shove my thoughts inside / Sometimes they get too loud / I can’t, I can’t, I can’t make it out.” You can check it out in the visualizer below.
