Myles Lloyd aches over a love that is “One Sided” on new single

Date:

While technology threatens to take over our existence, there are times when it comes in clutch. Rising Canadian R&B artist Myles Lloyd, for instance, has used his social media to tease a new song, and the response has been fairly exceptional, to say the least. He posted a snippet of the upcoming single “One Sided,” which went on to receive 2M likes, 35K shares, and 54K saves—just on Instagram alone. There is clearly so much love for Myles and his music, but Myles explores a different kind of love on the now fully released single.

On “One Sided,” Myles expresses what it is like to love someone who seems to only take and not give. The lyrics are smooth, with lines rolling into one another. We hear, “When it’s cold outside / Put my jacket on your back for you” and “When I call you mine / I don’t ever hear that back from you.” While there is a bit of hurt going on, the track remains sleek and rhythmically slick. In the end, it speaks to those who can empathize with such heartache.

Telling us more about “One Sided,” Myles shares,

“‘One Sided’ is about going all in for somebody who was never really all in for you. It’s realizing you’ve been carrying the relationship on your back while they’re just along for the ride.”
