From the hit Netflix reality show Building the Band, multi-national group Midnight Til Morning has dropped their debut single “Bye,” and the fans have it on repeat.
The band, brought together through blind auditions, instantly caught worldwide buzz with their joint talent and chemistry. Americans Shane Appell (22) and Zach Newbould (22) united with Australians Conor Smith (22) and Mason Watts (25) to blend their four solo styles into one cohesive sound; with that came this bittersweet ballad that is already loved around the globe. The soft rock track tells the story of not wanting this one night to end, and what an internal battle it is to say “bye” to the person you love: “I don’t wanna say bye to ya / Wish that holding you would never have to end / So I keep driving / I try and I try but I just can’t say it.”
The single has a star-studded co-writers list, including Benson Boone, Amy Allen (Harry Styles, Sabrina Carpenter, Tate McRae), Scott Harris (Shawn Mendes, Dua Lipa), Elie Rizk (Benson Boone, Noah Cyrus), and the band members themselves. Rizk both co-wrote and produced “Bye” alongside Grammy-nominated JT Daly (K. Flay, PVRIS).
An official visualizer was released along with the single, already reeling in over 110k views in a mere six days on YouTube. Later this month the four-piece group will premiere the official music video for “Bye”, directed by Josh Harris (Peach PRC, Go-Jo).
The band has stated on their Instagram how grateful they are for the fans’ love and support; they are very proud of this project and excited for what’s to come.
