Found Space share dreamy new single “nostalgia”

Date:

Found Space don’t just sing about nostalgia — they create it through their sound. On their new single, appropriately titled “nostalgia,” the dream-pop duo captures a hazy, melancholic soundscape that feels like drifting through a memory.

It’s an instantly catchy track, built around a repetitive, hypnotic melody and a distinctly ’90s vibe. Dreamy vocals, shimmering synths and echoing guitar lines blend to create a cinematic sound, the kind you could easily imagine soundtracking your favourite rom-com.

After meeting in 2018, Spen Oliver and Lillian Christopher bonded over their shared love of the dreamy ’90s by channelling the emotional pull of The Cranberries and the hazy textures of Cocteau Twins with a touch of nostalgic electronica.

Following their debut with 2024’s Closer EP, praised by KEXP for its “fuzzy dream-pop and shimmery indie pop,” Found Space returns with something deeper and more deliberate. “nostalgia” feels equal parts shoegaze haze and digital daydream, like a love letter to the bittersweet beauty of remembering.

And staying true to its title, “nostalgia” sounds like a song you’ve loved before, something you can’t quite place, but instantly recognise. Spen Oliver shares more about the song:

“We’re striving for the future we were promised but never had. It’s easy to feel let down by the hollowness of modern life, and like the adulthood we expected as kids has disappeared. We just want to put down our phones and live again, and maybe we can  make people feel something in the process.”

The single is the second release from the duo’s upcoming EP cloud study.
