“FIX UR FACE” signals the start of rap season for mgk

Date:

Less than a year after the release of lost americana, mgk has declared that rap season is officially here with his latest single “FIX UR FACE.” He’s joined forces with Fred Durst of Limp Bizkit, an icon who helped define the early 2000s nu metal movement. mgk began teasing the single on the European leg of the lost americana tour before its live debut in Australia.

While out on the road, mgk was spotted filming the music video for “FIX UR FACE” in Prague, Berlin, Dublin, London, Munich, Nashville and Los Angeles. Directed by longtime collaborator Sam Cahill, the visual features fans from around the world, proving once again how much mgk appreciates those who ride with him.

The best part about being EST is how mgk has urged listeners to appreciate multiple genres of music by refusing to be boxed in. He’s moving where the creativity takes him, and right now it seems like we are heading towards the rap album. As he raps on one of his previous tracks (“El Pistolero”), “I can do rap or country or punk or say ‘fuck it’ and do nu metal.” Even on “FIX UR FACE,” he is once again reminding us that he is a true multi-genre king: “But rock’s not dead ‘long as I’m alive.”
