Brother duo Nat & Alex Wolff released their new single, “Empty House,” via Coup D’Etat Recordings and Broke Records last Friday, August 1.
“Empty House” is a nostalgic experiment that reimagines music the brothers wrote as children. By revisiting their early work, they reshaped it to reflect their current artistic vision. Nat shared,
“I’d just gotten my first real home after years of living on the road. I expected that to bring peace, but it brought pressure instead. This song fell out of all that processing. It also ended up being one of the most fun songs to record and we were really inspired by Gorillaz and Stevie Wonder in the production.”
The track evokes a sense of melancholy, with textured instrumentals that highlight the fragility of change. The dreamy arrangement is rich with lush instrumentation, anchored by Alex’s expressive guitar work and Nat’s striking vocal performance.
After reintroducing themselves in 2023 and joining Billie Eilish on her Hit Me Hard and Soft tour, the Wolff brothers are carving out a new space in the music industry.
They aim to create music defined by emotional depth and a willingness to take creative risks. Fans can expect more new releases from the duo later this year.
