Mistine Pens a Love Letter for Getting to Know Someone on “(of u)”

Date:

MistineĀ is powerful new voice in alt-pop who draws together hard-hitting classic rock riffs and effervescent pop hooks for a sound that’s uniquely her own. Her latest single, “(of u)”, is the perfect addition to your Valentine’s Day playlist. Written about a deeply enthralling romance that sparks a desire to know a person to their core, “(of u)” stuns with emotive sonics that elevate Mistine’s heartfelt lyrics to the surface.

“(of u)” shines with evocative acoustic undercurrents, fleeting electronics that leave you with a head rush, and ethereal vocals that muse on a fated connection. The ruminative, reflective verses build tension before unravelling into a free-wheeling, electric catharsis at the chorus. In many ways, the sonics behind “(of u)” mimic the terrifying thrill of falling in love.

Revealing more on her track, Mistine confides, “I think everyone has experienced a love that makes you so curious about someones story and background. It’s important to want to know someone truly and wholly that you love, both the good qualities and the scars. It’s important to be a safe space for people to be vulnerable and to also give yourself permission to be vulnerable with them.”

Mistine has recently toured with artists among the likes of INJI, Conan Gray, BiigPiig, Meg Smith, and Zeph. Set to release an album this spring, “(of u)” gives us just a taste of Mistine’s bright future as an artist.
