Being a fan of Miley Cyrus has never been disappointing. Her genuine love and appreciation for her fans has always been apparent. After debuting her brand-new single during the Hannah Montana 20th Anniversary Special on Disney+ last week, “Younger You” is finally out for everyone to enjoy.
“Younger me has loved celebrating 20 years of Hannah Montana with you. This song is yours as a thank you for the life we’ve grown through together. I love you always.”
Hannah Montana was a true cultural phenomenon, dominating households throughout the 2000s and bringing families together with its mix of humour, life lessons, and catchy music, making it a show that audiences of all generations could enjoy and connect with.
For the 20th Anniversary Special, Cyrus treated us to live performances of “The Best of Both Worlds,” This Is the Life,” and “The Climb,” along with a sit down interview with Alex Cooper, behind-the-scenes looks and recreations of the original set, and special appearances by Billy Ray Cyrus, Selena Gomez, and Chappell Roan.
To close out the special, Cyrus surprised us all with a new Hannah Montana single, “Younger You.” The track bridges the gap between her childhood and life as a 33-year old: “Hey, you, it’s younger you / I know your story isn’t done, but do you love who you’ve become? / Hey, you, it’s younger you / When you’re standing on the stars, just don’t forget who you are.”
