Melodic Music Monday: November 24

Date:

Every Monday, we bring you a playlist filled with new tracks the Melodic staff has been listening to on repeat. Hear some of our latest obsessions below:

——

Kevin Jonas, “Changing” – The 38-year old debuted “Changing” on the JONAS20: Greetings From Your Hometown Tour at Fenway Park back in August. Videos of the performance spread like wild fire. His wife, Danielle, shared a video of herself watching Kevin sing solo for the first time. Watching that moment through her eyes, my screen was definitely getting blurry from the tears.

– Reagan Denning

——

MAX and Andy Grammer, “The Thing I Love” – This single is an infectious and heartfelt love song that highlights the dynamic vocals and signature charisma of both artists, creating a masterful harmony. Filming the single’s music video took a year and a half to complete, as the two traveled the world to film in five cities: Mexico City, Tokyo, Seoul, Okinawa, and Los Angeles.

– Rae Bozeman

——

Myles Lloyd, “Cold” – In “Cold,” Lloyd expresses frustration over his partner emotionally distancing themselves from him. In the chorus, he sings, “Don’t blame it on December / For why you’re cold / ‘Cause even in the summer / Your heart was froze / And I don’t know if it’s ever going to thaw.”

– Germano Blanco

——

Tally Spear, “August 31st” – With “August 31st”, Tally Spear delivers a cathartic pop-rock confession that’s instantly relatable. Leaning into the melodic punch of early 2000s icons like Avril Lavigne while keeping her voice unmistakably her own, Spear turns a simple date into a metaphor for endings, beginnings and the strange ache of growing up.

– Laury Verdoux
