Melodic Music Monday: February 2

Date:

Every Monday, we bring you a playlist filled with new tracks the Melodic staff has been listening to on repeat. Hear some of our latest obsessions below:

——

Matt Hansen, “SOMEWHERE IN BETWEEN” – Hansen explains that this single “tells the story of a relationship caught in transition where love, loss, and self-discovery exist all at once.” He continues: “It explores the space where you’re still connected, but already starting to change, and the way love reshapes you, even after it’s gone.”

– Alexa Rosenberger

——

corook, “Scooby” – The song’s teaser quickly ignited across TikTok, amassing millions of views and reactions in just days. Among the flood of commentary, one comment compared corook with Bo Burnham, who is known for blending comedy, music, and sharp cultural critique. The comparison only fueled the momentum, showcasing corook’s growing reputation for pairing sharp humor with uncomfortable cultural truths.

– Joseph Ine

——

TALI, “Style” – The singer-songwriter confidently opens the track saying, “Hey, can I be honest here for a second?” She then proceeds to declare her interest in a guy who is “just her type” – “confident and oversized.” In the pre-chorus, she sings, “So priceless, so personal, so obvious / I can play it cool if that’s your style.”

– Germano Blanco

——

Yard Sale, “Sunday Knockout”Yard Sale return with their newest shimmering, jangly alt-rock single “Sunday Knockout.” The band, comprised of Anna DeNelsky (vocals), Bennett Newman (bass), Sean Donaher (guitar), Patrick Crookenden (guitar), John Hetherington (guitar) and Will Hetherington (drums), draws influence from artists like Slow Pulp, The Beths, and Alvvays.
