Love Ghost team up with Jazz Moon on “Just Another Sunday”

Date:

Rock artist Love Ghost has continued his streak of singles with “Just Another Sunday;” a duet about a long-distance relationship. Joining Love Ghost on vocals is Jazz Moon in her debut release following years of ghostwriting.

Two panned guitars start the song, setting its melancholic tone as a doubled vocal of Jazz Moon begins. The lyrics show a relationship burdened with distance as the artist sings “You said you’re sorry / For the ocean between us.” A heavily compressed drum sets a forward-falling rhythm that creates anticipation for the chorus while a bass line stops the pace from overstepping itself. A lead guitar joins in with the rhythm guitars in the chorus with some synth keys, letting the post-chorus have some sparkle.

The second verse works as a response to the first as Love Ghost answers back to Jazz Moon; “I said I’m sorry / For the ocean I left you.” The instrumentation also stays the same as in the first verse, which helps make the song feel more like a conversation between the artists. Unfortunately, the song doesn’t have a bridge or breakdown before the final chorus, which makes it feel like it’s ended on an unresolved note. Still, the fadeout from the guitar amps makes sense for the dream-rock style that Love Ghost has developed.

Love Ghost and Jazz Moon have worked together to create a dreamlike rock song that captures the isolation of long-distance relationships, and the end result is a sombre but loud ballad of loneliness. “Just Another Sunday” is out now wherever you find your music.
