Lauren Minear challenges change in “Real Me”

Date:

Laura Minear

Nashville born and raised Lauren Minear is a storyteller at heart. Her indie folk-pop music weaves themes of love and empowerment together through her influences of honorary songwriters. She strives to make music that encapsulates the human experiences at their core, unafraid to tiptoe around the parts that might be difficult to write about.

“Real Me” is Minear’s latest single. It’s upbeat, with hints of country that blend with contemporary pop. In “Real Me”, Lauren touches on internal fears, and how to perceive change. She writes “Will you love me when I’m free?” to validate the idea that becoming your truest self can be daunting to the life you’ve already been living in. The bright background harmonies included in the chorus add hopefulness to Lauren’s words as she sings about unapologetically growing into herself.
