JoJo Siwa continues to show her musical evolution with a brand new single, “Bulletproof.” The newest addition in her discography was written by Colin Brittain, Elijah Noll, and Taylor Upsahl, and was produced by Brittain.
The upbeat pop song samples the classic French nursery rhyme “Frère Jacques” while exploring themes of strength and vulnerability. “No one is immune from the affects others have on you,” Siwa says. She hopes listeners connect to the lyrics in this song, specifically the chorus when she sings, “Took a shot and hit the spot / That’s when I knew, when I knew / Suddenly, I’m not so, suddenly, I’m not so / Bulletproof, bulletproof / Play it tough, but give it up / When I’m with you, I’m with you / Suddenly, I’m not so, suddenly, I’m not so / Bulletproof, bulletproof.” About the single, Siwa says,
“It’s my most personal song yet because it’s about the journey I’ve been on and the challenges I’ve faced, and how I’ve come out of them stronger.”
Fans can catch Siwa on tour this summer beginning on July 10th in Houston, Texas. Tickets are available here.
