John Harvie releases another must-listen, “Paint the Walls”

Date:

John Harvie has released his latest single, “Paint the Walls,” his fourth song of 2025. Ever since it was debuted live last year, it quickly became a fan favorite.

Even though it’s a cool rock song that’s fun to sing along to, its meaning is the opposite. “There is a moment in my life that I have probably told maybe 5 people in my life about,” the singer stated on his Instagram story, “But I think this song will give me the power to take those negative thoughts in my head, and present them in a way to help someone who’s struggling with being alive.”

Harvie’s vulnerability is apparent, heard within the chorus with these lines: “Paint me on the walls / Put me in a coffin I / wanna end it all / And if I’m out again I might / Black out in a bathroom stall / Either way I’ll miss your call cause / I’ll be painted on my walls tonight.”

While it’s a fun track to bop your head to, it also deals with the struggle of staying alive and wanting to end your own life. The song reveals another side to John Harvie that fans may have not seen before, putting lyrics to emotions that some listeners may be able to relate to and will now confide in.
