San Francisco-based musician, producer, dancer, and comedian Jason King released his new single, “DREAMS.”, on Sunday and it has a feel good vibe that all listeners will relate to. “DREAMS.” is his catchy first venture into a more alternative sound. While the song has a positive message, the inspiration as described by King himself may be a bit surprising:
“‘DREAMS.’ is a song written at one of the lowest points in my life. At the time, I had not given up on my vision (or dream), but my actions and my perception of myself seemed to demonstrate the opposite. I wrote this song as a way to uplift and encourage myself and dismiss the shackles of my own negativity.”
And he certainly inspires listeners to do the same with this single. The upbeat piano and drums immediately make you want to get up and move, and about halfway through we’re treated to a punchy electric guitar rhythm to back up the bridge.
