J. Cole announces new album and releases visual teaser

Date:

After years of hip-hop critics and fans questioning whether J. Cole “fell off,” the star is finally addressing the idea with the rollout of his highly anticipated album, The Fall-Off, out Feb. 6, 2026.

With the announcement, J. Cole has released a visual teaser for the album, sharing a message at the beginning of the video. He writes,

“For the past 10 years, this album has been hand crafted with one intention: a personal challenge to myself to create my best work. To do on my last what I was unable to do on my first. I had no way of knowing how much time, focus, and energy it would eventually take to achieve this, but despite the countless challenges along the way, I knew in my heart I would one day get to the finish line. I owed it first and foremost to myself. And secondly, I owed it to hip hop.”

Throughout the video, J. Cole reflects on being labelled as “falling off” and how this ignores the idea that success is rare. Rather than denying it and arguing back, J. Cole embraces the name, making The Fall-Off one of his most important albums yet. After being in the making for 10 years, the project represents a redefinition of his legacy in hip-hop.

The Fall-Off is available to pre-order now, and fans can check out the “DISC 2 TRACK 2” teaser below.
