Sungaze, comprised of the duo Ivory Snow and Ian Hilvert, released their newest single, “Shadows,” on May 23. This single represents one of Sungaze’s biggest mantras: If you can dream it, you can create it.
“Shadows” blends classic shoegaze sounds with modern influences. The guitar lead is an earworm that will hook listeners as they take in the rest of the reverb-soaked landscape within the piece. The song’s lyrics evoke introspection about the balance of good and evil within each of us.
“Shadows” is the fastest Sungaze song to ever come to fruition. The piece was written and recorded in a spontaneous five-hour session, which led to overwhelming success on TikTok as the band teased bits and pieces of the track.
