Alternative rocker Gina Fritz has recently released her latest single, the emotionally charged “Chemicals”. The metal vocalist continues to explore her solo career, as she moves towards a melodic, yet powerful and unique sound.

“Chemicals” is an explosive rock track that quickly erupts into a combination of galloping drums, hectic riffs and vibrant vocals. Fritz’s range allows her to tap into a deeper, more emotional delivery; a sorrowful tone gives way to anguish in the chorus, in a sort of controlled chaos that matches the energy of the song. The beauty in the vocals stands in contrast with the intense sounds, but there’s never a competition: they seamlessly blend to generate a gut-wrenching response.

This song is about battling with my inner self and contemplating what my future holds,” Fritz explains. There’s a deep introspection that happens within the first few moments, letting the listener know there’s nobody else around, but ourselves. As Fritz elaborates on the pain endured in the past, she desperately looks towards the future in search of freedom. “Chemicals” is as raw and honest as it gets, tapping into a very common experience that allows us to relate immediately. Despite its catchy qualities, the track has a more complex, adaptable meaning that provides a cathartic release.
