New York City-based band Geese have announced a new album, Getting Killed. The album is set to be released on September 26th via Partisan Records and comes on the heels of the band announcing The Getting Killed Tour, their biggest tour yet.
The album, produced by Kenny Beats, isn’t just a departure from the band’s previous works; it is a full deviation from who they once were. Previously, Geese released their debut album ‘Projector’ in 2021, an album best surmised as post-punk, followed by their critically acclaimed ‘3D Country,’ which was something akin to that of rockabilly; Getting Killed blows all of this up.
With this new album, Geese seek to mold something different, something that is exacting of their vision, something that is theirs and theirs alone. Fans have been able to get a taste of what that something is with the band’s latest release, “Taxes.” The track is a vibrant smorgasbord of sounds that all come together to create a song that is aching, yearning, and maybe, just a bit hopeful. It speaks to the struggles of growing: coming into adulthood, money, and the uncertainty of it all.
The band has already more than proven their prowess and talent with their previous albums, but Getting Killed is Geese at their most unhampered and creative yet.
