Naomi Scott collaborates with Johnny Yukon on her new single, “Rhythm.” The song is a dance-pop groove that will stay stuck in your head for days. This single is just the start of her series of releases for this year, introducing a new era of songwriting. This era is a product of patience, self-discovery and years of intentional craft.
Widely known for her work in film; music and songwriting have always been central to her identity. Scott grew up with formative sessions in partnership with pop powerhouse Xenomania and two EPs released while still in her teens. She also wrote three songs alongside producer Idarose, for Smile 2: The Skye Riley EP. However, these recent songwriting sessions saw Scott bring the process back to just herself. This is an artist in her own right, delivering her most personal and confident work to date.
The track opens with a thumping bass line and trickling clacks. It is a sonic pulse that immediately grabs your attention, setting the stage for a tension that builds throughout the song. As the vocals slide in, it becomes clear that “Rhythm” is a narrative. Beneath the seductive groove lies a deeper conflict: the battle between love and lust. While Scott and Yukon sing, their charged duet turns emotional uncertainty into something you can move to.
