Date:

Ericka Nicole Malone is a powerful songwriter and filmmaker recognized for her achievements as an NAACP award winner. Her new single “I’m Climbin’” is the leading track from her upcoming documentary The Bucketwish and invokes inspiration in each listener by reminding us of our inner-strength. When we tap into our full potential, anything is possible. “I’m Climbin’” motivates us to take our limits of what’s possible and elevate them one step higher.

The single marches to the beat of its own drum of R&B meets neo-soul abstraction. “I’m Climbin’” combines gritty bass lines with magnetic harmonies that swim beneath Malone’s warm and alluring lead vocal. She sings, “A million moments transcend to one / Each step I’m climbin’, I’m overcome.” The single demonstrates both an intimate tie to Malone’s personal journey and a greater universal connection to our natural tendency as humans to progress and evolve. “I’m Climbin’” is the soundtrack to all our lives, reminding us of the inherent power we possess as people to overcome whatever obstacles stand in our way.

Revealing more on her single, Ericka confides, “I penned “I’m Climbin’” as a lead song on the soundtrack to The Bucketwish because I want people to remember who they are and to keep climbing up the stairs of life to different levels no matter how hard it gets.”

Ericka Nicole Malone’s documentary The Bucketwish is about going after our most imaginative ambitions. “I’m Climbin’” was produced by the iconic Printz Board, a Grammy Award winner and co-writer of “Where is the Love?” by the Black Eyed Peas. Malone plunges ahead on this exciting next chapter with “I’m Climbin’” set to take her to the next level.
