The fear of losing someone you love more than anything else in the world can be scary. For Dylan Conrique, it’s the only thing she’s afraid of and she capitalizes on these feelings on “Written in Stone,” marking a major return to the music business more than a year after the release of her single, “last one to love me.” On this song, she’s not afraid of natural disasters,  danger,  honesty or even heights, but she is afraid of losing the person she loves before she dies.

She shares that she couldn’t emotionally survive the pain of burying someone she loved, singing, “Is the thought of you / Leaving this earth before I do, it would kill me…” She’d rather die first — have her own name “written in stone” than go on without them.

While dramatic or tragic, she says it’s a real fear — one we all go through when we’re in love as she questions that tangible fear, What would I do if you go first?”
