dwi releases heartbreaking new song, “Scars”

Date:

dwi is a project formed during isolation: while playing bass for The Zolas, the 2020 pandemic put a halt on the world and dwi saw a chance to create something new, profound, personal, and exciting. The songs are reflective in nature and graze on a range of topics, incorporating childhood, environmentalism, addiction, and the political landscape of the world.

dwi draws influences from The Beatles, Damon Albarn, and The Cure, but they also have some surprising and eccentric features that are harder to place. On October 21, they released a new song titled, “Scars.” The single is about being brave enough to share your scars with people. It can be hard and can get ugly, but it might save you or somebody you love. Despite being lyrically darker than most songs, it’s still something you can scream to at a party.

Watch an acoustic live version below and listen to the song here.
