On Instagram yesterday afternoon, Death Grips posted an official album announcement for the first time in over two years with a multi-carousel post of studio images.

Expressing gratitude and looking forward to the new record, thousands of fans showcased their excitement for the new era of the experimental hip-hop duo.

Hailing from Sacramento, California, producers Stefan “MC Ride” Burnett (lead vocalist), Zach Hill (drums), and former member Andy Morin (keyboardist) have paved their way in the underground scene, performing at small shows across their hometown.

Eventually their unique, experimental approach towards industrial hip-hop made its mark on the internet with mixtape Exmilitary — a 13-track record composed of samples extracted from artists such as the Beastie Boys’ “Brass Monkey” (found in “Lord of the Game”), Black Flag’s “Rise Above (found in “Kink”), and Pink Floyd’s “Interstellar Overdrive” and “Astronomy Domine.”

The group has accomplished the unimaginable since then. From releasing six studio albums to touring the world with their eccentric style, Death Grips are back and they’re currently creating the blueprint for their next era.
