In a heartfelt Instagram post yesterday afternoon, metalcore band Dayseeker announced the unexpected departure of guitarist Gino Sgambelluri.

Current band members Rory Rodriguez (lead vocalist), Zac Mayfield (drummer), and Ramone Valerio stated with sincerity:

“Hey Dayseeker family,

We wanted to share that Gino and the band have mutually decided to part ways. This wasn’t an easy decision but there’s truly nothing but love and respect between us. Gino has been such an important part of Dayseeker’s journey and we can’t thank him enough for his passion, his kindness and the endless hours he spent dedicating his life to the project.

Please continue to show him nothing but love and support as we all move forward into the next chapters of our lives and careers.

– Rory, Zac & Ramone.”

Over the past thirteen years, Gino contributed not only his killer skills as a guitarist, but extraordinaire as a vocalist; appearing in the band’s most notable albums. From record debut ‘What It Means to Be Defeated’ (2013) to fan favorite ‘Sleeptalk’ (2019), Sgambelluri has made a long lasting impact in Dayseeker’s legacy that will never be forgotten.

Although it is unconfirmed specifically as to why this choice was made, thousands of fans sent Gino well wishes and gratitude his way; expressing how appreciative they are in knowing a musician so talented.

Stay tuned for further information from Dayseeker below.
