Swedish-Peruvian artist, songwriter and producer Jhon Allan releases a new eclectic R&B single titled “BROTHER.” Born in a Stockholm suburb to a Swedish mother and Latin American father, a musical dynamic was established in Allan quite early. Drawing inspiration from artists such as Pink Floyd, D’Angelo, and The Beatles, listeners get a firsthand idea of the raw emotions blended into his songs. This newest release is the first step into a more vulnerable era.

“BROTHER,” beginning the descent into a darker chapter of his EP, focuses on the painfully honest reaction to a broken friendship and the turmoil that follows. Accompanied by an atmospheric trail of organic drum patterns, guitar riffs, and cutthroat lyrics, the vocal delivery resonates deeply in the hearts of listeners who’ve experienced the same betrayal. Speaking about the song, Allan says:

“‘BROTHER’ just poured out of me after a conversation with a friend. I felt betrayed and lonely, and everything just burst out into this song. It marks a turning point for both me and the EP, which was originally supposed to be about love and light. I was forced to face some difficult things and started writing my way through it.”

In comparison to the brighter singles “ARI,” “SIGHTS,” and “MAJOR CONTEST,” “BROTHER” is the first darker track released from his upcoming EP titled PURE ILLUSION, out November 14th.
