Corook Releases Viral Song “if i were a fish”

Corook has officially released their viral song “if i were a fish,” featuring Olivia Barton.

Just two weeks ago, the artist sat down with Barton and jammed out a tune to cope with an emotional day. Within 10 minutes they came up with the song “if i were a fish” and shared a preview of the song to TikTok. With a bright green bucket hat shaped like a frog and two beaming smiles the friends sang together, and the clip was quick to go viral with now over 2 million likes and a stream of positive comments.

Corook’s caption read, “I was having a very emotional day, feeling insecure and out of place. So I cried to Olivia and after feeling through it, we wrote this song in 10 minutes to remember the joy in being different.”

The infectious melody and camaraderie between Corook and Barton captured a moment that reminds us all to celebrate our uniqueness and appreciate the friends that uplift us, the ones who give us the space to be our most honest and whimsical selves Corook shared a number of heartwarming videos of the public playing their song on TikTok, including a children’s choir from Texas. They reacted with a sweet message that said, “This made me cry cause I could have used this song as a kid.”

“If i were a fish” is available to stream on a number of platforms, including Spotify, Apple Music, Pandora, along with Corook’s previous work. Olivia Barton is supporting Lizzy McAlpine on The End of the Movie Tour through May 13.
