Chrissy Costanza expands solo project with hard-hitting new single “Perfect Crime”

Date:

Known for her role as the lead woman of Against the Current, singer-songwriter Chrissy Costanza just released her newest single from her solo project, titled “Perfect Crime.” Melding cinematic pop and rock in her solo journey, Costanza has made a name for herself that boasts over 1.5 million monthly Spotify listeners.

“Perfect Crime” comes just over a month after Costanza dropped her debut EP, VII. About the EP, Costanza said on Instagram:

“This project is so special to me, and I am so grateful for everyone who has come along for the journey.”

Costanza’s lyricism shines through in “Perfect Crime” as she explores painful themes of biting your tongue and feeling forgotten. At the song’s onset, Costanza expresses the frustration we all feel when we hold our tongue instead of speaking: “So I swallow down the knife / Please don’t ask me if I’m fine.” In the chorus, she expresses hopelessness, “Look what I’ve done to me / It’s the perfect crime to die inside while alive.” The song closes out on a poignant note, “Walk the road alone through hell / Don’t ask cause I won’t fucking tell.”
