Charlotte Sands releases unfiltered new single, “neckdeep”

Date:

Charlotte Sands is shaping the wave of alt-pop resurgence in real-time. Her latest single, “neckdeep,” is a blistering, unfiltered anthem that continues the momentum of her breakout year. Hot on the heels of her global can we start over? tour and riding the buzz of June’s “HUSH,” “neckdeep” throws us headfirst into a chaotic spiral of betrayal, heartbreak, and reclaiming your power.

Opening with a wall of sound that leans bratty and unhinged in all the right ways, “neckdeep” marries hyperpop’s distorted textures with grinding alt-rock riffs and metallic percussion. It’s a full-body scream disguised as a pop song.. Sands’ signature weapon. Her vocals oscillate between desperate pleas and venom-laced fury as she confesses, “I know I’m not what you wanted / But I’m all that you’ve got.”

“neckdeep” is a song about the realization you’re no longer a priority in your relationship and the desperation that comes with wanting to be seen,” Charlotte shares. “It captures the chaos that comes with being pushed past your breaking points and constantly existing on the edge of helplessness and revenge.”

Much like her past work, Charlotte’s strength lies in her unfiltered honesty and ability to soundtrack the ugly, complicated moments of growing up and letting go. “neckdeep” feels like a declaration: of independence, of rage, of reclaiming narrative control. It’s pop for people who grew up on Paramore breakdowns and Tumblr angst, now with glittered combat boots and sharper edges.

“Whatever can be the loudest songs, they’re so exciting to me because I love performing them,” Sands shared in a recent interview with Melodic Magazine, and “neckdeep” is the perfect example of this amplified energy.

Currently electrifying audiences on the idobi Radio’s Summer School Tour, Sands is proving night after night that her music is meant for something more. Her August run includes stops in Nashville, Atlanta, and Philadelphia, with a return appearance set for the Vans Warped Tour in Orlando this November.

If “HUSH” cracked open the door to a new Charlotte Sands era, “neckdeep” kicks it down. Consider this your warning: the alt-pop it girl isn’t just here to stay.
