Indie rockers Casino Havana have just unleashed their latest single “How Does It Feel?”, a callous tale of betrayal and instant karma.

With rowdy riffs and an alluring rhythm, “How Does It Feel?” is an unapologetic response to the ultimate betrayal: finding out your partner has been unfaithful. Casino Havana creates a villainous atmosphere, with an unbearably slow and heavy sound that quickly becomes intoxicating. As enticing as the music can be, the intense vocals and harrowing howls tell a different story, conveying the troubled feelings of sadness and most importantly, revenge. The band’s sound is explosive and effective at making the listener feel both uneasy and empowered.

“How Does It Feel?” holds nothing back: the cheater turns into the victim, an eye for an eye. There’s a certain level of hurt in its words, despite the arrogant attitude portrayed. The pain is incredibly raw, as the narrator keeps justifying their actions as a reaction to betrayal; Casino Havana does a great job at leaving us wondering if inflicting the same kind of punishment was as satisfying as it sounds. In a sea of breakup songs that focus on the sadness, “How Does It Feel?” is almost morally corrupt, which makes it a more accurate depiction of how toxic relationships can turn ugly at any given time.
