Brooke stays true to herself in “All I Ever Wanted”

Date:

Brooke All I've Ever Wanted

How many singers do you know that started off as a drummer? Brooke grew up in Boston and did just that, where she played jazz/funk drums. During the pandemic, she explored production and released four singles of her own. After these releases, she took a break to rediscover her sound and her newfound identity as a queer artist. Her new project is set to be not only true to herself, but raw, honest, and unapologetic.

“All I Ever Wanted” is the second single off of Brooke’s anticipated debut project, following “Alarming” released in February. This song reinforces Brooke’s sense of self-worth and avoidance of empty promises. The production is dark, yet keeps the listener on their toes. Something unique to this track is the use of breaths that act as her background vocals, as well as spoken bits of dialogue in between phrases that are sung by her main vocals. “All I Ever Wanted” is a powerful alt-pop anthem to growing into yourself and making sure everybody around you knows it.
