In June, up-and-coming singer-songwriter Brady Brazeal released his debut single, “My Last Name.” The emotionally-charged track was about expectations and life in a small town, with Brady trying to find a way to change how he is perceived. His raw vocals and vulnerable storytelling were at the forefront of the track, showcasing his range and artistic capabilities. The single has pulled in over 100K streams across streaming platforms, so whether it’s the melodies, the vocals, or the lyrics, there is something about the track—and about Brady—that fans are attracted to. He now follows up the single with “I Got to Thinkin’.”
Produced by Patrick Lyons in Nashville, “I Got to Thinkin’” contains the similar country twang and powerful expression heard on “My Last Name.” Brady gives us vivid vocals over the dramatic guitar strums, pouring his heart out. He shares intimate thoughts of a wounded heart with lines like, “My heart keeps begging for an answer, but now you’re gone / And I just keep holding onto answers, and I know they’re wrong.” All the while, he asks questions like, “Is this really where you wanna be?” and “I need to know baby, are we history?” Anyone who has ever lost a dynamic love can relate to the track, and hopefully, it helps them feel less alone.
Telling us more about “I Got to Thinkin’,” Brady shares,
“‘I Got to Thinkin’’ is a song I wrote based on past experiences I’ve had with relationships, talking about how the time was wrong and we were just too young and naïve to make things work. I feel like this song can really resonate with the listener because it’s a pretty relatable experience. A lot of people lose their first love, and they’re kinda just dumbfounded about why.”
