BANKS marks 10th anniversary of her debut album with acoustic version, ‘Goddess Unplugged’

Date:

BANKS, born Jillian Rose Banks, is marking the 10th anniversary of her debut album, Goddess, with a special acoustic version, Goddess Unplugged. While the release date has yet to be announced, fans are eager for the reimagined take on her breakthrough record. The original Goddess album was released on Sept. 5, 2014 by Harvest Records, and has been consistently ranked as one of the best albums of the year by various outlets like Slant Magazine and PopMatters. The album debuted at No. 12 on the US Billboard 200, selling 25,000 copies in its first week, and entered the UK Albums Chart at No. 20 with 3,977 first-week sales.

Known for her moody, alternative pop and R&B sound, BANKS carved out a signature style on Goddess with standout tracks like “Before I Ever Met You,” “Warm Water” and “Fall Over.” The album featured production collaborations with Justin Parker, Shlohmo and Totally Enormous Extinct Dinosaurs, helping establish her distinct blend of alternative R&B and contemporary pop.

To celebrate Goddess Unplugged, BANKS has announced three intimate shows in London, New York and Los Angeles, where she will perform acoustic versions of songs from the album. These underplay shows will take place at the same venues she performed in a decade ago during the original Goddess tour. You can sign up for early access to the shows here. Pre-sale will be available on Monday, Sept. 9 at 10 a.m. local time, with general on-sale beginning on Tuesday, Sept. 10 at 10 a.m. local time. You can purchase your tickets here.
