Ariana Grande speaks up about her withdrawal from the public after her Eternal Sunshine tour

Date:

Grammy Award-winning singer-songwriter Ariana Grande has been on a roll with her career recently. The release of her newest album, petal, also came amidst her Eternal Sunshine Tour and breakup with Wicked co-star Ethan Slater.

On August 2, representatives of the superstar announced that she would take a break from the public eye after her tour ends and withdraw from her role in the Sunday in the Park With George musical set to debut in 2027.

Grande took a step forward onstage to “clear the air” about a few things after her Eternal Sunshine Tour show at Chicago’s United Center on August 3: “It was a decision that was made from a thoughtful and empowered place. And I want you to know that many things can be true at the same time,” the singer said while reading from her phone.

“Multiple things can be true at the same time: boundaries need to be set, human beings can need a break sometimes, and also, this can be and will continue to be the greatest experience of my professional and creative life.”

The Eternal Sunshine Tour is set to finish in London on September 1 after a 10-night residency at the O2 Arena. Tickets to the remaining dates of the tour before her break are available here.
