Tame Impala hits the ground running with new album announcement

Date:

After “One More Year” (or five), Tame Impala is back with a fifth album; Deadbeat is coming on Oct. 17.

The simple Instagram caption was enough to send his fans into a frenzy. Born Kevin Parker, Tame Impala’s “LP5. October 17” announcement threw everyone for a loop; this marks his first studio project in five years. The “Let It Happen” singer released the album’s first single, “Loser,” on Sept. 3. A music video accompanying the track, starring actor Joe Keery, also known as musician Djo, was also released.

Aside from “Loser” and the July single “End of Summer,” the rest of the tracklist has yet to be revealed.
