Date:

mgk debuts the song of the summer, “cliché.” The single blends early 2000s nostalgia with a modern edge. The lyrics are vibrant and infectious with a burst of energy, portraying the singer in a carefree light: “Tell me, would you wait for me? / Baby, I’m a rolling stone / I got a lotta right in me / But I don’t wanna say this wrong / Tell me, would you stay with me? / Baby, we could make this home / You should run away with me / Even if you’re better off alone.”

The single is accompanied by a music video directed by Sam Cahill that features a new layer of excitement, marking mgk’s first time incorporating choreography. The multi-platinum recording artist has also hidden a trail of Easter eggs throughout the music video, sparking fan theories as listeners try to uncover the title of his upcoming album, with the frontrunner being Lost Americana
