PVRIS celebrate ten years of ‘White Noise’ at hometown Boston show

Date:

A hometown show is always special for bands and this one was extra special for PVRIS, who hail from Lowell, MA. Boston always serves as their home show and their most dedicated fans show up for them in Boston, as well as family and friends galore. Lynn Gunn’s parents were in the audience amongst a very packed crowd at Roadrunner, the largest venue they have headlined at in Boston.

Not only were they celebrating being back home, but they were also celebrating the 10 year anniversary of their first album White Noise’, which is such a classic. The whole tour was White Noise themed with brilliant lighting and set design with items hanging above the stage representing different themes from the album, including various items of furniture, clocks and mirrors. A very unique touch.

The tour setlist was split up into two different acts, the first one was playing the entirety of White Noise front to back, then the second act was playing various hits from the rest of their discography like “ANIMAL”, “Dead Weight”, and “GODDESS”. During the second half of the set Lynn came back out dressed in a Boston Fleet women’s hockey jersey to the roar of the crowd.

If you thought PVRIS had dedicated fans than you are correct, but Boston PVRIS fans are a whole different breed of dedicated. During a short pause in action, Lynn addressed the crowd and how excited she was to be back home, and the crowd absolutely erupted. They were so hyped that they ended up screaming in excitement for at least three minutes straight and the band just basked in it all. It was such a wholesome moment and drove Lynn and her bandmates to happy tears.

By the end of the set, it was clear why White Noise continues to resonate years after its release. The energy all night was insane and didn’t let up one minute. Boston sure knows how to party. PVRIS didn’t just revisit their beginnings, they reaffirmed the power of the sounds and the era that started it all. What a special night and one they soon won’t forget. Be sure to catch pvris on tour!
