The Growlers are an Orange County-based surf and garage rock band. They frequently perform shows in their home of Southern California and recently announced a few shows in Los Angeles and Orange County to end the year. I was able to catch their sold out show at The House of Blues in Anaheim on Wednesday night where they played an amazing almost two hour set. The band pleased many long-time fans by playing a lot of their older material as well as a couple newer songs from their 2018 release, Casual Acquaintances. The show seemed to be almost like a casual homecoming for the the group, frontman Brooks Nielsen mentioning that it had been a while since they’d performed in the OC and that it was good to be back. The crowd seemed to agree and welcomed The Growlers back with open arms in the form of some enthusiastic singing and grooving.
