Joan bring their groovy tunes to Boston

Date:

Arkansas based duo Joan brought their groovy 90’s inspired tunes to Boston for a nearly sold out show at Brighton Music Hall. The band is made up of duo Alan Benjamin Thomas and Steven Rutherford. The two have been making music together for nearly 5 years and live within 5 minutes from each other in Little Rock Arkansas, where they would craft their retro wave tunes out of their own bedroom. Joan make music that means a lot to them but also can mean something to others as well. They just want to bring joy to peoples lives with their music. And that they did at their show in Boston.

It was a jam packed night full of amazing performances. The Wldlfe opened up the show to an eager crowd. They got everyone up and dancing with their captivating energy. It was a fantastic way to start off the night. 9pm rolled around and you could feel the crowd’s energy elevate as they knew it was finally time for Joan to take the stage and they surely did not disappoint.
Joan opened up their set with “So Good” off of their EP Hi. They played a handful of songs from their discography like “Tokyo”, “Drive All Night” , and “I Loved You First”. It was a good mix of old and new songs as well as acoustic portions of the set with the emotional “Not Over You”. The crowd was ecstatic throughout the entire night. You could feel the room shake with the crowd every time they were off their feet. It was a night you just had to be there to witness. Joan surely know how to put on a show.
