GIVĒON releases new single “RATHER BE,” fans anticipate new project

Date:

Continuing his sophomore chapter, seven-time Grammy nominee GIVĒON has released “RATHER BE,” accompanied by a music video directed by Loris Russier. The R&B ballad, marked by strong horn instrumentals and heartfelt lyrics, was produced by Sevn Thomas, Maneesh, Matthew Burnett, Jeff Gitelman, and Jahaan Sweet. GIVĒON elaborates more on the meaning of the song:

“This song is a reflection on acceptance — the idea of seeing someone’s flaws and choosing to stay. It’s about loving someone not for who they could be, but for who they are, and realizing that real connection isn’t about starting over, it’s about holding on.”

Fans are eagerly awaiting GIVĒON’s full sophomore project, especially after the success of his debut EP, Take Time, released in 2020. Since then, he has continued to earn accolades and chart placements, including a Top 10 spot on the Billboard Hot R&B Songs chart for “Twenties” and a Top 20 position on the Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Songs chart. He also earned the fourth Hot 100 hit of his solo career.
